Levobupivacaine HCl Introduction
Levobupivacaine HCl is an amide-type local anesthetic. Levobupivacaine works by blocking voltage-sensitive ion channels in neuronal cell membranes, preventing the conduction of nerve impulses. By interfering with the opening of sodium channels, a locally reversible anesthetic effect is produced, which inhibits the conduction of neural action potentials including sensory, motor activity, and sympathetic activity.
