Triethylphosphine is generally used as a ligand in the organometallic chemistry. It can be used in:
• Synthesis of the tetrahedrally coordinated L

x complex with a terminal nitride group.
• Synthesis of (PEt
3)
2Ni(η
2-C
14H
10), a source of the reactive Ni(PEt
3)
2 moiety.
• Synthesis of dinuclear rhodium complexes with triethyllphosphane bridges.

Triethylphosphine Safety Profile
Highly flammable liquid. Reactswith oxygen at low temperatures to form an explosiveproduct. When heated to decomposition it emits toxicfumes of POx.
